I talked to the city today. They opened bids for the new park project yesterday. Huge undertaking. Shelters, bathrooms, picnic areas, amphitheater, tennis courts, and a disc golf course!
The actual work should start soon. WCDGC design team will be with them every step of the way. We will fine-tune the placement of pads and pins after the initial tree clearing.
Expect to see trails between holes, steps, pads, signs --- the works.
More info as it comes in.
Thanks, Ron

The city's contractor is now onsite. Expect to walk the course with the contractor folks in the next two weeks. Happening sooner that we thought.
I will update after we meet the contractor.

SWEET!
We're still planning on moving down there sometime in the near future. Fixing up the house to sell now ... will probably be able to afford to buy a new place in full! Yeah ... freelance here I come.

Green Light! Our design is approved.
The walkthru with the city, their arborist, the contractor, and even the bulldozer driver went very well.
City was very pleased with the flow, the use of land, and even the golf shots. ( an occasional player!) Said that he can't wait to play it.
Arborist was very pleased because he expected many more trees to be taken out. Most of the trees on the hit list were our beloved bodock. He used to play at Morley -- long ago.
The contractor discovered what disc golf was. And was reminded how hard it will be to work on that hill side. He will get over it.
Bulldozer Bob caught on quick. Don't tear up the ground and only take out the trees that are marked for extinction. He is really the only one that matters at this stage.
I expect the initial pass on the tree removal to start rather soon. We will fine-tune the target/tee placements after that.
Ron out.
