Does the County or parks department frown on things like best shot or Handicap? or Do we not have enough people that would show up on a Saturday or Sunday, to organize something like this?
I used to look forward to best-shot on Sundays, you meet people you don't normally play DG with. Just a thought....

Nope, no frowning involved. Let me refer you to the "What's ahead for 2009" thread. wcdg.proboards57.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=166I think interest in it happening has never been the hold up --- just haven't got to it yet. We are coming up on our 1 year anniversery of the installation of the targets. Sadly enough, course maintenence has taken a lot of our time. Hopefully this will be the year some folks can step up and run some weekly stuff. This being a good ole Southern town (as in a decent amount of church-going folk) ----- IMHO we would have better results with a either a Sunday afternoon or Saturday afternoon event. Doubles on the weekend is a great way to conncect with new golfers. I expect that after the time change this spring, we could also package a weeknight singles or handicap event at Crockett. After Liberty opens ----- hmm..... maybe even more?? So? What about the rest of you guys? What weekly stuff do you want to see and/or run for the club? Ron

What a coincidence that this tread started, I was just thinking yesterday that the league thread was the only one no one had started.
anyway, I would love to see a doubles event at Crockett this spring/summer/fall I think we may could get enough participation to kinda set a weekday time and a weekend time. who ever can make it to them, more the merry.
I know at my brothers home course in GA, they kinda do a pro/am if you will. say if you play pro tees in tourn. play - you pick an am tee partner, that way us ams can learn a thing or two from the pros. I think he said if only a few show up, they just draw straws basically.
It could even go into playing glow this fall.
Maybe at the Ice bowl we can spread the word even more.
Hey Ron, lets do another vote. count me down for 1
