We are looking at launching a Thursday Night Handicap League for the summer at Crockett. Details don't exist. Just ideas. Here are some broad strokes. We need some input. Post if you would support it. - Every Thursday; Rain or Shine (except lightning)
- 5:30 or 5:45pm start time - gives time to finish before dark for several weeks.
- June, July, and August gives us a 13 week season. More?
- Don't have to be there every week. This ain't bowling. Prizes every week and some kind of finals awards.
- Entry fee? Dunno yet. Maybe $5, with $1 to the club & league finals, $1 to cover CTP, $3 payout (cash or plastic?) Thoughts on fees?
- $1 optional ace fund
- Must have 2 rounds to establish a handicap. Must have handicap to win. Rolling handicap based on last 3 raw scores.
- Red tee/White tee? Interesting problem with the math. Since we need to attract the newer players, so we could put the players with the largest handicap on the red tees and add the typical difference between the tees - shows to be about 7 strokes. Need some input here.
- Bag tags are always on the line. Raw score not handicap score. Red tee plus 7 maybe?
So what do you think? Ron

Everybody should play from the white tees. $5 entry. If you need a handicap then you can buy one. $2 buys you one stroke. $5 buys 4 strokes. $10 buys 10 strokes. The winner gets a disc. Second place gets a voucher for 2 free strokes off of their score the next time they compete in a league sponsored event. Some casual GLOW rounds would be great this summer too.

We should start at 6:30....................... just kidding, anyone else in this club in the same boat as me and cant get there till then?? if so, how bout an early start and a late start. one group start at 5:30, one at 6:30. it wont be getting dark until 8:30 during these summer months. that should be good for a card of 4 to finish. if we have more than that we could start on different holes.
i have no ideas on the handicapping part of this. never done it, not so good at math. i like the ideas Ron has so far.
scotch, a few of us played glow almost all winter long............where were ya? i'd be ok with playing some over the summer, but with it not getting dark until 8:30 and the park closing at 10.......dont know if it could work. i say we just continue the thursday thing into the fall and turn the discs on at dark.
