2010 Williamson County Disc Golf Club Plans
Well friends, while 2009 started off rather solid, with two decent sanctioned events, the launch of weekly doubles, and the installation of Liberty; ------- we are finishing the year with less celebration.
Since early summer we have lost the privilege to run weekly events at Crockett and until the club provides insurance coverage for its club members, we have lost the opportunity to volunteer for course upkeep. Brentwood parks policy requires some very specific things for an entity to run events at the park. They won’t allow just anyone to use the course for organized events.
But, enough about that. Following is a recap of our goals/plans for 2010:
• Hopefully, initiate weekly events of some kind at Franklin as soon as we can. We are meeting with the park staff again this week. They are still in the process of fine-tuning their Course Use Policy. We expect this soon and are prepared as a club to do whatever is necessary to meet their standards.
• Hopefully, schedule a January Ice Bowl at Liberty. Yep, see note above.
• Make an official request (sometime after the first of the year) to Brentwood Parks for WCDGC to be an event “Service Provider” ---. In order to do so we will be doing a few things:
o Purchase sports insurance to cover club events and club sponsored course upkeep. (with income from 2010 Bag Tag sales)
o Meet the city’s residency requirement (I think somewhere near 45% -50%) for the club roster.
• And if that request becomes official:
o Run weekly and monthly minis (of some kind) at Crockett.
o Schedule volunteer work days for maintenance and improvements.
o Request to schedule a tee pad fundraiser tournament for early summer.
o Install tee pads this summer. We have a player/volunteer with some great connections. Budget for all 36 is less than 2K.
o Request to schedule the Crockett Charity Classic for early fall.
That’s it.
If you found the forum, we are glad you did. We simply ask that if you are ready to invest in building DG in our community --- jump in. We need you.
So, now you know what we know. Time to sell some tags!!!
2010 Memberships are $10. It comes with a handy-dandy WCDGC 2010 Bag Tag.
Club members will be selling Bag Tags at Crockett EVERY Sunday afternoon at 2pm.
We will announce on the Discussion Forum of additional times at Crockett and Liberty. Check back often.
If we don’t have you (or our playing buds) on the Email Update List, please contact me at

Thanks,
