I'm thinking about signing up for the May 10th tournament. How do I know which level to sign up for? I've played at Crockett maybe 6-7 times before it was torn up for the soccer arena and 2 times since it re-opened. Does that make me a novice or an amateur?

Division and Ratings Q & A
Q. Which divisions will play which tees? Gold (pro), Blue 935 + (advanced) , and White 900-934 (now called intermediate) will play the Crockett white tees.
Red 850-899 (now called novice), Green 800-849 (now call recreational -- go figure), and Junior <16 years , born 1992 or later -- will play the Crockett red tees.
Q. How do I know which division to play if I don't have any PDGA rated rounds? The divisions are designed for each entrant to compete with similarly skilled players. If you play "up" and don't have the skills -- it tends to be less enjoyable.
Playing "down" in a lesser rated division than your skill level is a great way for a "cheap" win. Frowned upon.
So... try to pick a division (ratings level) that fits your current level of play. Here is a verrrrry ruff guidline. Cedar Hill scores (set up long) <60 Blue 61-64 White 65-70 Red 70+ Green
7 Oaks (18 holes - set up sorta' long) <57 Blue 58-61 White 62-67 Red 68 + Green
Q. Will there be any age protected divisions? Great question. Initially no. Although threats and requests will influence this TD.
Current thoughts-- "Most" Pro Masters in this region tend to move between open and masters as the tourney changes. A shoot-out might be nice. I predict the old fellas will hold their own. A bigger division (of similar skills) is always a better division.
"Most" former Adv Masters in this area fall into the newly named Intermediate (I call it White) division. I predict that "Most" of my age protected friends will take the lead spots in a white division shoot out. A bigger division (of similar skills) is always a better division.
Q. Any women's divisions? Up to the ladies. Some tell me they like competing in the new ratings divisions and some tell me they want a separate division. A "red" ladies division could be available if the ladies have a consensus.
Q. If I have a rating can I play up? Yep.
Q. If I have a rating can I play down? Nope.
Answer man out.
Ron

Quite a few of us are coming up from Jackson. Is there an address that we can send some checks to?

I'm not sure about the address, but you can always register online. That is the best way to guarantee your players' pack. Speaking of players' pack, here is a picture of what the supercolor disc will look like in the first 50 pre-registered player packs:

Todd, you know what my response to registering online will be:
If 4 of us are coming, and want to mail you a check. that is $0.40 as compared to $12.00. If we mail in now, we should have no problem with the players pack based on the number of entrys.

Ron will have to make the call on that one. I thought we were only taking online registrations, but i could be wrong. I'm not sure what address to send your checks to.

Here's the new flyer. It also has the corrected address information. I would still recommend registering online if at all possible. It will make things much easier for us and will also guarantee you a players' pack.

I got the discs in yesterday. The tournament is filling up quickly. You need to pre-register to ensure a players' pack.
