I feel like an idiot... here I've been driving from cool springs up to Opryland to sling discs for a couple years now, never realizing there was a course in my own back yard.
Anyway - I'm a casual player and I'm interested in meeting up with folks periodically to play. I'm a father of 2 little ones (thing 1 and thing 2) who may join me on occasion especially as they grow up if that is allowed. I live south of Crocket on the west side of I65 and look forward to meeting some of you.
Just wanted to introduce myself - I'll keep an eye out for posted tee times. Would you all prefer me to respond in chat if I plan to make a tee time? Or is it ok to just show up.
Thanks much to the moderator for putting this site/resource together.
See you all out on the course...

Mr Bear, Welcome. And you haven't missed much. The targets have been in only a short while.
And definitely bring the kiddos. Family golf is a fine thing. Playing with kids in the mix is just part of the game.
BTW, I played about 4 holes with the Bose family today (Daddy Mike, Blair, and Brady) Blair, about 16, now throws over 400'. Brady, about 12, just threw 46 on the red tees today. So, bring those kids. And start keeping score while they are young, 'cause later on they will beat you!

I pass Crockett on my way to and from Spring Hill each day, so I look forward to getting in there and checking it out.

Hey ron,
Thanks much for the update (and sorry for the multiple posts, I didn't think it was posting as it took forever to upload my post - my apologies for spamming the board).
I have a 5 yr old daughter who is unfortunately about as athletic as my 90 year old grandmother, but she'll enjoy coming out and trying. I also have a 2 year old son who will probably be out-throwing me by the time he's 10 - he's all boy.
And Steve,
Yes, 2 Rivers. I like the course but it's a hike to get up there. Also, I haven't gone much since my friend who intro'ed me to disc golf moved out of town. I'm looking forward to meeting some folks who play as a motivation to get back out there. I played a ton down in Baton Rouge, but haven't played nearly enough since I've moved back to town.
Well, I'm looking forward to playing and meeting folks. See you all out there!

I have a 5 year old daughter and a 2 year old son as well. They like looking at the the discs and trying to throw them, but I haven't really tried to show them how to do much yet.
Where do you live?

Hey Todd,
We live in Eagle's Glen near the corner of Liberty and Mack Hatcher.
My kids have never really come out with me, but I'm thinking it's time my daughter came out at least. I will probably need to play the course a few times first so I make sure she could handle an hour of walking. I might try to swing out that way around 3pm on Saturday, but I'll have to see if I have that flexibility with my wife.
