My family is travelling to Savannah in a few weeks. To break the monotony of the eight hour drive, we're stopping to play a course somewhere along the way. Looking it up on PDGA.com, there appears to be a dozen or so courses along rte 75 and 16 (mostly surrounding Atlanta). Anyone have a recommendation of a good 18-holer to play? (Marietta has 16; might that be my best bet?)

I played White Oak today. A new one on the I-20 west side. A good bit out of the way for your venture. But, worth the detour.
First 11 holes are awesome. Tapers down after that. Decent finish on 17 and 18. Take some water hole discs. Good place to donate to the down under.
I will play Redan and Moseley (another new one ) tomorrow. Not sure where they are but will know by then. I let you know.
Jim, how far out of the way is Augusta? Hitting the HQ there would be kewl.

As mentioned on here before, the best site for info about courses you would like to play is dgcoursereview.com.
log in there, go the map browser feature under the course directory.
It will show little "basket" icons showing where all the courses are. click the map and will locate the ones in a radius of where you clicked. you can then click the basket to get all the course info, including directions. they are color coding depending on how many holes.
If time allows, i would recommend: East Roswell Park White Oak (bring your legs on this one, its quite hilly) JP Mosley and Deer Lick Park
have fun, hope you get some games in. by the way, you will see perkerson park on the browser. it is a temp course.
see yall at the parks
