I have a suggestion that the club should have it's own facebook page. It would be a great way to link to this site and also a good way to easily connect with many others and new players I would imagine. A facebook page for the club would also be an easy way to post pics of club outings and such. I noticed there's a memphis disc golf club that has it's own facebook page with 120 members. Anyone else in favor of this? your thoughts please!

I think it is a good idea. It's an easy way to increase visibility for the club.

I think it is a great idea. Who needs to give the final OK for Scott to get started?

Scott, Facebook? Absolutely. Do it. What do you need from the club to make it so?
Thanks for your interest and investment.
I expect there to be a rather large population of folk that would find that particular social connection to be right up their network alley. Sounds most worthy.
Having no idea how my fellow 2 3/4 score-arians will respond, I for one, am still playing catch-up. Just found out my phone takes pictures; if you text me more than once - I will just call you; I just now figured out what a friend request is; and that flipping wall makes me feel nekid; ;D
Thanks again, Ron
Oh, and while I am at it -- our local volunteer website guru is moving. Anybody out there got some mad skills?

I can do a lot of website stuff, particularly for a stable site that just needs maintenance. If we're wanting wholesale changes and a bunch of new stuff, I can do that too -- just not during the school year. Summertime, I could do a bunch of stuff on a volunteer basis.
My buddy Johnny (who played Sunday doubles two Sundays ago) is a freelance graphic designer who does a lot of website work, too. I don't know that his schedule would allow for a lot of web stuff as a volunteer, though.

Facebook sounds like a good idea. I tried to signup on my Blackberry Curve & (just like almost everything else) it didn't work. Me & Ron are probably not the sharpest tacks with this stuff.....

I have a facebook group page ready to go. The only question I have is do we want it to be open or by request only? If we choose request only then only those who we choose to let join can view post, pics, and such. Anyone can still see the link to the club website though regardless. Now if we choose for it to be open then anyone who comes across the page can view anything posted on the page and choose to join up without having to request to. Which way do we want it? Let me know!

I would say an Open group. We will see some advertising come across (but probably only stuff that's targeted at DGers) but an open group will allow people to ask questions about our courses and see our posted events without having to join the group. More friendly to out-of-towners and occasional players that may not think they want to join the group at first.
My two cents.
