New thread. I'll start.
Oh... let me light the candle.
I am Ron. Disc Golf junky. And your current club president.
Found DG at Cedars of Lebanon in the middle 80's. Threw big ole black World Class Frisbees with some church buddies until we moved.
Found DG again in Birmingham in 95. Saw some discs at the big box store and went looking for the local course. Made friends with the bunch working on course improvements. Been a fun ride.
Don't play many tournaments anymore, but enjoy the local scene. Expect to be an am for life.
Later, Ron

I'm John Wood. Everybody calls me Woody.
Started playing when I went to Austin for my sons H.S. Graduation, in Zilker Park some 8 or 9 yrs ago. Today I am still playing............ exactly the same! So I accept that I will always be a hack. But I have FUN! Lately I have evolved into the club Limerick Blogger. Guess I have found my niche. 2 ACEs so far. I'm single and kind to children, animals & Ron.
See ya out on the course.

I'm Ryan thingyerson, I go by RD
I have a 9 yr old son named Miles, who doesn't really care for the sport, he'd rather play guitar or drums. I can get him out every once in a while, you'll see him about as often as a shooting star.
I first played out at 7oaks back in the mid 90's, mostly for the enjoyment of getting outdoors, nothing competitve. I joined the Navy in 97 and forgot about the sport till spring 08' Now I love tournys, I play as many as I can. I also like our local scene and hope it continues to grow
my current rating is 905, i've hovered in that range most of 09' so i think thats my home.
look forward to meeting those i dont know, and trying to keep my #3 tag from those i do

Hello! I'm Scott Phillips, father of 3 wonderful girls and a new little one due Aug 1st. (hoping for that boy!) I got an innova 3 disc pack this past Christmas of '09 and have been playing ever since. I was kid free the week after Christmas so I went out to Crockett and Liberty at least twice to break in my new discs. After scoring 1 over par from the red tees at Liberty my second time around, I was completely hooked on this game!! After playing rounds on my own and a few with my kiddos I finally hooked up with my first ever real opponents on a Friday morn in January. I had a blast playing against Ron, Woody, and James at Liberty, and I joined up with the club. I swapped my tag #20 with Woody last Sunday as I was the better of the front 9 at Crockett and I held on to his tag #16 last wed morn at Liberty with a tie! I can't wait to expand my disc selection!!!

My name is James and I'm significantly younger than a lot of you. I've been married 2.5 years and have no children. My profile name stands for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. I learned about disc golf a few years back, but I didn't get the itch until this summer and went disc crazy. I've never played a tournament, just one weekly mini at Barfield.

Name’s Craig, fair weather disc golfer, no true natural disc golf skill to speak of, other than can make a few 30’ putts a round to keep it interesting. The one tournament I won as an intermediate, I just kept making pars while everyone around me blew up. That's me, good for a 3 most of the time. 936 rated, played almost 3 years now, so I'm officially BOB advanced player. Happily married and father of 2 boys, Leighton and Lucas 14 and 12. I’ve been enjoying going to church on Sunday mornings lately, and not planning on missing that too many times in the future. Probably won't be doing too many 2 day tourneys as a result, but I enjoy playing casually with friends more than competing with bozos anyway. I also look forward to taking RD's big #3 tag first chance I can get since I was given the #10 last year and never upgraded it once. Randomly drew tag #11 this year and plan on donating that to someone as soon as it warms up a little. Created the latest version of www.tndiscgolf.com to try and help those guys out, but don’t plan on doing site updates in the future. I live in Lebanon, favorite course is Smyrna, so holler if you want to play out my way six eight six four five nine four.

Call me Ishmael. Or Becker. Or Jim. Or "Great shot!"
At 38, it depends on who I'm playing with as to whether I'm the old fart or the young gun. Current club smartass, lifetime club dumbass.
I usually bring Justin, my six-year-old, who'll be beating me in no time. Shu (4) will probably join the fray more often when it gets warmer, and Scooter (3) still naps more often than not. Happily married, but gave up trying to convert my wife into a disc golfer a long time ago.
Started playing in '02 at 7Oaks after many years of ultimate. Always liked throwing more than running. Still wish the course trees and baskets didn't play such staunch defense against me. Haven't officially registered with PDGA ever, but I'm guessing I'd be somewhere in the 900s. Always wanting to get out for a round, but only really consistent for Sunday afternoons. Minimal tourneys otherwise, but looking forward to my second Crazy 8.
Currently holding Tag #7. No clue who has lower numbers, so I suppose I'll play the role of prey for now.

I'm Ryan thingyerson, I go by RD Now, that's funny. (I don't care who you are) Everytime RD tries to type his name, some kind of board filter gizmo changes "D" ickerson to Thingy-erson. Not RD's fault he is the son of "D"icker.

Hey everybody, This is Craig Delta-india-charlie-kilo-erson from Atlanta. I play with my brother RD when I come up and have met a few of you. I lurk on this site more than I post but am very interested in your happenings. Hopefully this summer I will be up there and run into some more of you. I really hate to hear that there is no Ice Bowl Charity tournament at Crockett this year. I was looking forward to it.
Anyway, I've been playing for about a year and a half a love it. I love tournament too. I played in Rec in 2009 but I'm playing in Intermediate this year. I am averaging about an 870 rating currently.
See you around,
Craig

First ... Yo all you Nashville area disc golfers! Hope you guys had a great holiday and Happy 2010! The Mayans predicted we will have at least two more years of awesome disc golf ahead of us!
2. I really missed my annual [Christmas] trip to Nashville to play the amazing disc golf courses I've come to love. Totally sucked that I couldn't get any paid vacation time off ... so I was only able to take a few days to visit my folks in MO.
3. Some of you know my wife and I were considering moving to the area. Over the last year or so we came to realize that we want to get back to a National Park. Cathy has about 20 years in service with the NPS and was dying to get back to her roots as a Park Service Ranger. She applied to several parks last year and after waiting for almost 7 months was offered a job. Starting March 1st 2010, she will be the new Film Permits Officer for Yosemite National Park in Northern California. We are in the process of packing and moving and will be making our new home somewhere around Mariposa CA. Cathy's brother [and family of 4], her twin sister, and her mom & dad are still living in Thompson Station and Franklin. Her folks are trying to move back to Denver and have their place up for sale. I'm not sure if and when they will move back, and if not before next Christmas it's possible I'll make the trip down to Nashville.
So ... We're not moving to the area after all. But I hope to visit again. I want to you to know that's it's been great meeting some of you and playing DG. If you're ever up in Northern Cali and want to get together, I'll be within driving distance of some of the amazing courses out there (we'll be 1.5-2 hrs from DeLaveaga!) ... so be sure to drop me a line. Some of you are my friends on DiscgolfersRus, and I've got facebook. Hope you keep in touch! Disc on this summer and HAVE FUN!

I'm Dave the editer. I really am an editor--my first job in Nashville was to check the Bible for errors.
I put in enough hours playing Frisbee in college that I should have been granted a minor. I started playing discgolf in the late 90's in Philadelphia. (I recommend Tyler and Tinnicum.) I've had three aces, including HH #4, but nothing over 215 feet.
I have bad days and good days, but I have a tendency to choke in tournaments--I'm a Vikings fan. I only play 2-4 times a month, and I've been married 25 years. I would gladly play 15 times a month, but then I'd be unmarried and probably unemployed. Sometimes Bonnie and I play DG together--I throw two drives, and she takes the best one. My bad drive is often much worse than my good drive, and she's a better putter than I am, so it's pretty even.
I don't play Sunday tournaments because I'm busy on Sunday mornings, but I gladly play Sunday afternoons. I started the Crazy 8, and I've played it every year for 8 years.
There's an amateur golfer named Stabnow who alternates good throw and bad throw. He limits his troubles by playing more doubles, but he can't write limericks as good as Woody's.

Hello all! I'm Cameron Patrick...have met some of you and looking forward to meeting the rest. I am relatively new to the area - moved here about two years ago to marry my beautiful wife and become a stepdad to her two beautiful children. Rachel is 15 and prefers malls to golf courses. Ryan is 11...he enjoys disc golf and joins me occasionally, but only when he can work me into his busy social calendar (really!).
I lived the prior 42 years in Indianapolis. Picked up disc golf there in the late '80s...put it back down in the mid '90s...picked it back up about 4 years ago. I don't get around much - my entire disc golf experience before moving was on five courses in Indianapolis...and only the two Williamson county courses since moving here. I'll get out to the other area courses one of these days!
Oh...also, Ron, you'll be glad to know - I've just passed the official's test. ;D

Hey, Chris is the name often used when referring to me. Golfing with the discs is most enjoyable accept for when they don't go in the basket. Apart from the disc golfings, I enjoy other things too!
