Due to the typical discgolf jacka$$'s that dont respect rules and well, rules Flyboy is shut down for the time being, this course plays through a neighborhood community and the folks that spent there hard earned money to live in such a nice area have been disturbed by the foul languaged, no shirt wearing, cigerette butt tossing, beer drinking, dope smoking fools that have given our sport a bad name in so many areas. Luckily the course is saved, but a new set of rules and whatnot are now being worked out. The Atlanta Open is still a go, but we will have to wait and see about the casual rounds that used to be. Gone is the 1600 ft "longest hole in the world" along with a couple others that played too close to homes (one idiot somehow managed to throw WAY off course near a bathroom window, just a wife was exiting the shower) anyway, those thast want to read about it can go here: www.discgolfatlanta.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=3140I am always keeping up with the ATL scene and once I see the opening, i'll post up on here to get this road trip together

Booking Now ;D I've already got 3 of us heading down to Kelly's Flyboy Aviation private course after work on Friday May 20th. We will be spending the night at the lodge and playing all day Saturday before driving back tired Saturday night. I'm in the process of making reservations now. Flyboy is already booked up in April with tourneys and space is limited. The next 2 that pay get beds, after that it's air-matress city fellas. $65 a person includes our stay at the lodge Friday night, breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Gonna at least play the course completely thru twice. 1 round at Flyboy is like 2 rounds anywhere else. www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=3693 If anyone is interested in playing the #3 rated course in the world with us let me know. You can contact me at craig_buchanan@bellsouth.net

Just an update. We're up to 5 of us going now. Anyone else that want's to go will be sleeping on an air matress, though Kelly swears they are high quality, and very comfortable. 2 of us going are very easy going, so we could probably be bribed to give up our comfy beds if any of our... shall we say... more experienced disc golfers ;D decide they want to go too. I've got a group of good guys going so far, and the type of friends I've made with the WCDGC will blend right in. I really hope some of you guys go with us. Besides, it's a good excuse to get away from the misses and kids for a day and enjoy golf with friends at one of the greatest courses in the world for well under 100 bucks.

Our road trip was a great success. Keith and I hit 4 courses in BG and missed the rain.
Phil Moore. Eww. Royally muddy. Didn't even play one hole and should have left a couple more alone. I expect some temps to replace them for the tournament.
Big bomber course. Felt like I was in the plains of Tejas. Except for 3 of the wooded holes-- the short ones were 375. Lots of chunking. On my rating system of How Far Off the Interstate Would You Drive to Play This Course, I gave it a .08 Miles.
Kereiakes. Cedars baby. Fun course. Some nice shots. My BG favorite. 30 miles.
BG Technical College. Brand new. Freshly poured pads, dozer tracks in the fairway, and piles of brush along the sides. The Raw factor is a negative, but it is hard to have an old course unless it started out new. ;D
HB offered to be our guide. We had a great time. The course is long and wooded. Many par 4's. Nicely shaped, well done. Non fairway shots are not recommended. Would play again in a minute. 25 miles.
Hobson Grove. The perennial. Putter heaven. If you haven't done it. Do it. Like HB said, +10 or -10, both are available. 25 miles.

Impressive. 4 rounds in a day is no joke Ron. Any more thoughts on the BGTC? I haven't had a chance to see it yet, and may end up driving up the weekend of the 26th to play a few myself.

I was worried about taking someone as old as Keith, but he kept up just fine. BGTC wasn't too complicated but you need to see it. Mostly blind holes. Maybe only 3 decent 2's available. The open campus holes were noneventful. Most of the wooded holes were long then left or long then right. Fairways were available but not generous. I thought 3 of the par 4's were easier than Crockett 17---could maybe get a 3. Some of the targets had a lot of soldiers. Made some approachs flukey. And the rough was BulldozerPiledNasty! I landed too left 3 times on long drives. Saved the 3, but got lucky. Could have easily been lost or buried too deep. I expect a wide range of scores. Even from the lead cards.
