This one really peaks my interest. Keep an eye on updates as I may plan to road trip up for this one. As always, others are welcome to ride/share expenses.
Check out the course reviews and photos on dgcoursereview. Looks like a nice one.

This is still one I'm looking to possibly get to this summer,
you have to pre-reg by July 1 to get a dri-fit tee in the players pack. I should know by the end of the week if it works out in my schedule with my son in town.
Anyone else thinking of heading up there. I will have Friday the 8th off and plan on heading up there mid-morning, check out the course and stay in a hotel that Fri-Sat.
Would love to split fees up there on a room. Let me know so I can decide if its worth the trip.

Keith,
Road trip time my friend, I put a check in the mail this morning, and will book a hotel sometime today.
Your welcome to ride with me and split the room. They have random draw doubles Friday afternoon, and live music too i think that night.
Hope your schedule works out, should be a fun one.
I might could squeeze one more in the car, but if you drive yourselves it might be more comfy, but we can get one more on an air matress in the room for sure.
Anyone else want to join?

RD and I are heading up as well. Instead of playing the doubles, we are going to get there early enough to play a casual round to learn the course.

Aaron, were heading out around 1...get there around 3, play a easy casual round to learn the course.....the doubles is random draw, not interested in that so much, if it was bring your own I'd be in, but I understand hbs format since hes giving away baskets to the winners. Were staying at days inn, north of the course. See yall up there! I wouldnt mind checking out the concert/party Friday night too

So Iv'e now played 60 courses, and this course is now in my top 3, if not my favorite course. Yes, even as good if not better than Flyboy. (Flyboy is a destination experience, hard to top) Its all opinion of what type of course you like that decides a favorite, but this is the exact course I like to play. Many par 4's based on distance, but can be reached for 3's if you hit your lines. I love a course that for the average thrower (300ft drives) you have a tee shot that requires full power with a proper line to a landing zone, a well placed upshot with a proper line, and a decent putt (not always a drop in) to get a 3. I really get tired of "parkable" shots being considered a good hole. Those are FUN holes. Not that I don't think those are fun, and this course a handful of those, but for me, I like a well rounded golf outing. True to HB design the stratigic tee and pin placements make you think before you throw. And the way to score well is to play smart AND safe. As you would see on the few holes that play around the water.
The course is an easy drive and I recommend any of you guys making your way up there when possible. Maybe a WCDGC road trip is in our future.
Me and Keith had a blast, my 80lb bag filled with water was all that saved me from the heat. I wished I had Ron's push cart, and Im truly looking to invest in one for these summer tourneys in the heat.
The park itself is a sight to see with the lake. A few holes reminded me of Horton, only longer, a few like Crockett (with water) a few like Flyboy, but mostly this thing is true to itself, and like I say its in my top 3 now, if not my favorite, and as the clique always goes, I wish it were in my backyard!!
