Howdy. Just as I pulled my friend Shane Seal out of dg retirement years ago and turned him into a disc golf powerhouse, he has now pulled me out of retirement. I played Liberty for the first time a couple weeks ago and loved it. I will be playing there on Monday mornings when the weather is nice. Probably one round from the shorts, one from the longs, and one round of speed golf from the shorts for conditioning. Awesome hills! Anyone with a similarly crummy work schedule like mine is welcome to join me. You just have to promise not to mock my outdated plastic, since with the exception of Labor Day weekend, I haven't played in about 2-3 years.

Crow, huh? Sounds like a familiar name if you used to run with Seal and with the DNDG family! It's just been a bit. I bet we met before! When he was out of Hattiesburg, I was running out of Oxford and OleMiss- playing the rotations of SNDG play with Fair Hayes, Kenny Collums, Zack Hudson, Kincade, Stephen James, Benny Martin, and that whole bunch out of Wall Doxey, Cossar, Trace, and doing a lot with Memphis Disc Golfers back and forth- Linton, Todd, Crawdaddy, Daniels and that crew. I actually live in McKay's now, basically next door to Liberty- like just the other side of the round about by "Longmont" on Liberty Pike. Maybe we can get in a round sometime. I have a somewhat open schedule in the mornings as well after about 8:30-9:00 till about 12 to 1, but just don't mention that to my lady, seeing as that I'm inbetween work right now (and that's my primetime job hunting window).

Each Sunday at 2:00 is the group's weekly flip-up doubles scramble. No money, just good time with good people. Tomorrow is a Liberty day on the rotation. Should be fun if you're able to make it. Top half of the theoretical field - the people that play more pro to upper adv in relation to the population flips; odd man out, and the field of more new adv to am flip to pair odd man to odd man to keep things interesting and competitive. Any repellant with Deet is encouraged And beware of Liberty's ferocious man-eating resident wild turkey population. If it feels like the woods have eyes, it's because they do!

I remember Mike's name, if not his face. I used to hang with Zack and the Haydels quite a bit. And I played many a tournament round with Kenny Collums. I lived on the coast and I started playing ultimate with Shane back in 1993 at USM. I started disc golf in '97, but I've quit and restarted about a dozen times since then. I will probably be out at Liberty sometime after 9AM on Monday. I plan on dropping my oldest off at school in Fairview at 8:30 and going from there. I work 1430-2300 on Sundays so doubles will be out for now. Maybe next year.

In that case, yeah- we know one another. It's just been several years. I bumped into Seal the other day in Jackson. He was at the Reservoir playing Pelahatchie with Kevin Lewis. That's my hometown. Think he was on the way up here, missing the SNDG Pro Championship to play in an Ultimate Frisbee tournament/ championship. Threw a few holes with those guys, but didn't get a chance to hangout too much. He had to get on the road to come up here pretty soon after.

Yep, he came straight from Jackson to my house, then we drove over to Nooga to play in the Shawn Adams Memorial. Also played the Sinks and watched LSU dominate, then came back and played Barfield-Crescent and Liberty in the rain on the way home.
