Dern RD, you sure pulled the trigger on that mighty fast!
The last mini road trip we did was a hoot. I even scored a valuable lesson from Slowroll... free! But I'm not sure we would have enough sunlight in Dec for 2 courses or everyone would be able to commit that much time.
Sanders Ferry & 2 Rivers are BIG arm courses. Not noodle arm friendly. Folks like me would like to feel they at least have a chance. I would MUCH prefer Cedar Hill or Sharp Springs.
IDEA: Most of us (incl. me) have not seen the course at Fontanel. How bout' we play that? It's neutral ground, nobody has an advantage. Possibly we could play 1 round, eat lunch there & play it again. Saves time & gas to boot!
I would like once again to THANK everybody involved in Saturdays Tournament. Also ALL our Sponsors. Please remember them when you shop! WCDGC did good.
Did I mention I really like the Tournament stamp on those Players pack discs? & a choice of 4 different models?! Outstanding!!
Well done. ;D

As one who has seen Fontanel, I'd have to say that you wouldn't be pleased once you got there (for this event anyway). It is much more of a big-arm course than either Sanders Ferry or Two Rivers. I'm fine with Sander's Ferry, but if we take a vote on it, mine is for 'anywhere but Fontanel'

I haven't checked my calendar, but it sounds great.
An out of county event sounds most cool. A baby road trip.
Which course? Saunders Ferry sounds great. (I don't see it as a long arm course at all --- much more noodle arm friendly than Crockett. )
No Fontanel, no Dos Rios, Seven Oaks is a low maybe.
While we could discuss Sharpe Springs or Cedar Hill, but I like the idea that RD has taken the lead on this and just like every event -- the TD makes the call. Saunders Ferry is a great course. This should be a "go".

Top post updated with times, thanks Becker, that is some important info I forgot.
As far as using Sanders. As others stated, its not a long arm course, its Mostly open. I feel as a non-WC course its most fair.
Depending on how many players we have, I am seriously considering having a final 9 for the top 4 players too. (with a cool little "safari" layout) As well as a couple CTP's
Don't forget to commit and let me know if your playing so I can plan it all out (sorta like pre-reg ;D)
Ron, can you send out an email blast with a link to this thread for those thant don't frequent the board much

Dern RD, you sure pulled the trigger on that mighty fast! It's an addiction, not much I can do about it and no, I do not need an intervention

Which course? Saunders Ferry sounds great. (I don't see it as a long arm course at all --- much more noodle arm friendly than Crockett. ) This was not my impression playing it today. It was very Crockett-like, (so it is a fair comparison) but it seemed to play longer than Crockett's white course.

According to DGCR Saunders plays about 6000' Crockett whites plays about 6700' I think in its normal config. (over 7000 when 12 is long)
