According to DGCR Saunders plays about 6000' Crockett whites plays about 6700' I think in its normal config. (over 7000 when 12 is long) Sanders must be set especially long right now. It definitely seemed like more than 6000'. We were playing in a very strong wind and maybe that's affecting my recall. It seemed like all but 3-4 holes were 375 feet or more and I don't recall anything less than 280, except for the water holes. At least three (and I think it was 4) holes were 500+. Yes, Ron, I am a noodle arm. (I also drowned two discs with bad shots, but that's another story.)

This was not my impression playing it today. It was very Crockett-like, (so it is a fair comparison) but it seemed to play longer than Crockett's white course. According to DGCR Saunders plays about 6000' Crockett whites plays about 6700' I think in its normal config. (over 7000 when 12 is long) Actually, DGCR has Saunders going up to 7215'. I too played the course yesterday and I saw pin placements I've never seen. Yes it was windy, but that course was longer than any I've played around here. Bryan was right in that at least 4 holes were over 500'. The only hole we played that was not in it's longest position was #11.

Me thinks they put everything in long-- plus some new ones--- for the Cloud 9 event on the 5th. That is interesting news. Not your normal Sanders Ferry. Could be set the same way next week??
But there would be some advantage to some players; My ranking would be --- Long and straight Short and straight Long and crooked Short and crooked
Those in the first category don't care which course we play. Those in the middle two shouldn't care. And those in the last category--- play for fun anyway. ;D Ron

ah yes, the cloud 9 open. That makes sence that they would have some new pins out there. have to cater to Will!!
Well, that makes me more excited to play it now!
We could go through the whole thing of coming up with a handicap for those that feel they don"t have a fair chance. Wind can not be considered of course as we all have to deal with mother nature. I would guess starting -6 would be fair? thoughts?
Or we could split the field for those that play reds at crockett, or REC in tourneys. (rated under 900) Those then would just play for the "red tee" tags were brought out.
I aim to please and I want as many tags out there as possible.
I welcome ideas We Will be playing Saunders though.

I played in the Funkytown Flyers club first-tag event 2 years ago on New Years day. 188 players. At the end of the day only 9 folk had a single digit tag.
I expect the same will be true for us.

Ryan and I are really looking forward to playing on Sat. Weather looks very nice. (especially compared to today) I hope you folk are planning on coming. Ron This post makes it sound as thou your playing THIS sat the 3rd, when the WCDGC event is on the 10th. The weather does look great btw, and for those that are interested there is an event planned this sat (3rd). Its Drakes bag tag finale. Tee off is at Cedar HIll @ 9am. followed by a lunch and a second round at 7Oaks. You do not have to be a Drakes member to join in the fun, and you may likely want to join in his tag challenge for 2012. He got it sponsored by Dynamic Discs, and each event will have payout vouchers to use on the DD website! Pretty Cool! Anyway, This may have all been put in the whos playing when/where, but anyway if your looking for some action for the next two weekends...there it is. Be at Cedar Hill THIS sat at 9AM Be at Saunders Ferry NEXT sat at 9AM
