Retro Report
Last Saturday I played Cedar Hill on a very brisk & windy day. Throwing downwind my drives looked like Becker..... (well, almost) Pros: Who doesn't like Cedar Hill? Cons: I don't get here often enough.
Last Sunday Scotch, myself & a few others thumbed our noses at the temp & played lonely Lady Liberty. Pros: No ticks, chiggers or poison ivy. No lost discs. No crowds. Crunchy frozen ground isn't muddy or slippery. The creek on 3 was frozen = no problemo! Cons: What cons?
Field Report: Cedar Hill is in good shape. The paths/fairways have been pine mulched & some (new to me) telephone poles are keeping erosion at bay. There are 21 baskets = 1 for putting practice by parking lot & 2 alternates. Some new benches too. Tee pads are extended.
Liberty looks better with pine mulch in some areas. The tree across 7 is gone. The little pathetic screws are in the right basket locations on the tee pad signs. There are pencils but no scorecards in the mailbox. There is finally a safety net by #1 white to protect players from #8 drivers. The cutesy little trash cans are overflowing.
Anthropological Approach: Speaking of trash cans.... If you take a gander at the contents there is demographic data. I make no interpretation regarding the courses except their geographic location. As for the visitors... Cedar Hill is Pabst/Bud/Miller/cans. Liberty is predominately craft brews/bottles/the ones that usually come in 6 packs/some I've never even seen before.
See what you miss when you don't play in the Winter?
Maybe this Sunday Ma Nature will give us a break!

According to the schedule, yep - tomorrow's at FBC. That's where the Beckers will be.

This Sunday, 2:00. Smyrna (Sharp Springs). I asked on FB about Sunday tourneys there, and the usually verbose crowd on Nashville Disc Golfers offered no reply, which makes my ignorance believe there aren't any tourneys there on Sunday afternoons. Should we stumble into one, I'll happy assume the roll of scapegoat.
