Player (A) tees off with his white star tee bird on hole 2 Player (B) tees off with his white star sidewinder on hole 2
Player (A) makes his upshot from the sidewinder, picks up the sidewinder an moves forward several feet.
Player (B) get to his his lie and realizes the tee bird is not his disc.
How must BOTH players finish the hole and what scores get penalties if applicable?

Rule 803.10A: Player A will continue to complete the hole and then take a 2 stroke penalty. Rule 803.10B: Player B will go to his correct disc and mark as close to the original spot as possible. He will continue his play without penalty.

Same players. Same discs. Next hole.
Player B (he throws first because he obviously has the box)-- He throws his SW, lands a bit short.
Player A throws the snot out of his bird.
Player B approaches his SW, marks it with a mini, Lays his SW 3 or 4 feet off to the side. Goes back to his bag for a towel, wipes his putter off, steps up to his SW and putts from there--- and not his mini.
No one on the card notices what he has done until Player B, says, "dang, where is my mini?".
What is the penalty for Player B?
What is the penalty for the other players on the card?

If Ron and Rd were on player B's card, we would have observed this and player B would have received two strokes, without warning ;D ;D ;D But, since no-one observed his mistake, play continues. Player B gets a freebie. per 803.07 (C) anyway. but of course, per the player code of conduct, all players must abide by the PDGA Official Rules.

If a tree falls in the forest, and there is no one around to actually hear it.... does it make a sound?? Well.. by the definition of the word "Sound"... the answer is NO. There must be ears to hear before you can have sound..... Is this analogy even relevant?

Note to self: Keith throws his discs into trees because he's trying to make them fall down for scientific purposes.

This is a strange one. There is no specific rule for this type of misplay -- most misplays are penalized two strokes. This one ---- as a misplay--- is oddly enough not against the rules. If the cardmates had been watching, the call could/should have been a stance violation --- which would result in a warning. But, to have made that call, the cardmates would have to be watching and make the call within the prescribed 3 seconds. Player B could have been made to replay the shot. And yes, RD and Ron would have been watching. Ron
