So: for those who wish to play on Easter at 2pm let's decide where.
I'm happy that yesterday some club members played Henry Horton while'st Scotch, myself & the long absent Jack Starmer hit Cedar Hill. Jack bought a tag & then a few hours later left with the low # = Congrats!
Cedar Hill looks great. Some holes have been modified & are easier but others are harder because the fir trees have grown larger. I love Cedar Hill & it gives noodle arms (like me) a chance.
Now that Spring is here I'd like to mention just how FUN it is to carpool to some other course not in rotation for a round, have lunch break somewhere & then play another course..... mini road trip!
I'm not a Facebookie. Oh, I know it's hip & good for photos but..... Why would I want to leave this Forum format which offers organized posts/threads by TOPIC/Subject?
Just saying.

Slight alteration to our monthly events.
1st Sunday (of the month) at Fellowship Bible Church DGC for Doubles
2nd Sunday - Crockett Park Doubles
3rd Sunday - Rotating. We're doing Smyrna in May, hopefully to avoid the skeeters. Probably Horton once this summer, and maybe Shelbyville another?
4th Sunday - Crockett Park for Singles Round ( A Bag Tag Event) If you don't have a WCDGC Bag Tag, worry not; you can play without one or buy one for $10 bucks.
5th Sunday - May 31 will be at Oggwood.
Every Sunday Tee off at 2:00 pm Come a bit early to sign up. It is true; the cities won't let us have an entry fee. But, the competition is real and the fun is free.

So this is the part of the year when I start throwing out stupid rules for doubles rounds Sundays, right? At least it’s not for a tag, because James White is still the only proponent of doubles tags.
They recently did a Voodoo Doubles at Oggwood (fun course!) with different rules for each hole. We’ve done this before, for RD’s bachelor party. Fellowship seems like a good course for this too.
For the first nine, it’ll be a basic goofy doubles. Three best, three tough, three alternating. The “back” nine gets a little dumber. Like me.
1-3 – best shot 4-6 – tough shot - Opponents choose which shot you use, until you make one in the basket. You need not make both. (See #4 below) 7-9 – alternating shot
1. Putt-Putt. Putters only. 2. Playing with Becker and Ron. Make as much noise as you want as your opponent drives. 3. But That’s Not How I Throw! Forehand drives, unless you usually forehand drive. In which case, backhand. 4. Thanks for Nothing. Both partners have to make the putt to hole out. 5. One Disc Challenge. Choose wisely, for yourself. 6. Swap Life. Choose unwisely, for your opponent. They must use that disc to drive from the tee. 7. Bag Swap. Play with discs from your opponent’s bag. 8. Indigo Montoya. Drives, upshots and putts with your non-dominant hand. 9. Four-gun Salute. Line up, left to right. All players on the hole drive simultaneously.
I’ll make enough copies for Sunday. Looking forward to it.

Tomorrow is the standard second Sunday at Crockett red/white am/pro doubles.
Next week is supposed to be Liberty, though that's supposed to be out of the rotation for the summer. Has anyone actually been to Liberty in the last two months to see its current condition?
If we're not playing there, then where? It's the day after the Crazy 8s, so I may well skip it, but it'd be good to know what I'm skipping.

For Woody and Scotch, who don't use Facebook. Lemme know if anyone actually checks here, please, or if I'm merely wasting my time.
Seems like the summer schedule is all kinds of goofy, but it's summer. Need we any more excuse? Scott Willett informed me that he can set up a 10-hole temp course this Sunday at Freedom Middle School in Franklin. I say let's do it! Me and the Beckerlings are in. Come, join, play! 750 New Highway 96 West, Franklin, Tennessee 37064. Scott, if you want to describe the potential course a bit - hills/woods/grip'n'rip, that might help. I'll try to post on here whenever I know of a change for the upcoming Sunday. We'll do par-2 at Crockett another time. See you Sunday at... Willett's Plateau?

Jim, I do check on here regularly. I love the Forum because of the way it's organized by topics/threads.
I say, "If the Forum was good enough for ancient Rome it's good enough for me".
So maybe now I'm 'Hipster' disqualified.....

This Sunday's bag tag round at the temp course set up at Freedom Middle School. Address: 750 New Highway 96 West, Franklin, Tennessee 37064. Scott Willett could use some help setting up baskets, so if someone could show up ten minutes early, that'd be helpful. (I don't think I've ever been anywhere ten minutes early.) See you Sunday!

MILES and WOODY - Crockett today. FBC is too wet. Keeps raining in the first week. Disappointing, but not worth slogging through the slog.
