In lieu of playing with stars, how about playing under them?
I played 7Oaks last night with lit discs and remembered what a blast it is to hit a shot you can't see. Dunno how or why, but it's more fun for me to play after dark. (Maybe it's because my kids are sleeping and I needn't worry about sudden, urgent potty breaks for my four-year-old.)
If I recall, Crockett closes at twilight (or dark). Can someone verify that? If so, is there any chance of getting an exemption for being part of WCDG? (Membership has its privileges?) Or are they too worried about vandals to permit this sort of thing?
I'm happy to keep playing 7Oaks since it doesn't close until 11 PM, but a little variety every now and then is good. If not Crockett, are there any other parks that allow mini-UFOs to zip through the air?
-- Becker
P.S. Enjoyed the round, Scotch. Well-played. (Same to Geoff, Walker and Patterson, though they don't check this board.)

Jim, Yep. Crockett closes at 10pm. They actually lock the gate. They do this at all of the Bwood city parks. They gather and herd all the vehicles out of the park (with determination) and close the gate.
It's a good thang.
I play night golf pretty regular. I continually shoot better at night than during the day. But, I snore more.

Ha! Funny Ron ... I had to read it twice. Last time I played night golf I got a penalty stroke because I couldn't find my pillow before the 3 minute deadline. Seriously, we only play DG at night here in the mountains after the time changes ... when we have no other choice. I'm kind of psyched to play some night golf because my nephew gave me an amazingly bright flashlight he acquired in the Army. It's blinding. Really fires up the glow discs. BTW ... Gateway makes the MOST awesome glow discs ... those babies stay lit a long, long time. I usually play with one glow Wizard and a glow Element. I'm sure they must be radioactive or something.

If you get to play any more night rounds you need to check out Black Jax"s LED discs. The Quest is very understable, good for someone like me that does not get a lot of snap. The Axe is a straighter disc. They also have pods that attach that add 10 grams to the disc. These disc are lite by LEDs and are easily seen and the batteries last over a 100 hours. I really enjoy my Quest. Just wish it came in a lighter weight than the 175g.

Don't let the time change get ya down. A couple of us guys have been hitting crockett on mondays and thursdays around 6:15/6:30ish playing some glow. What a blast!! academy sports sells the 10gr pods, and the work great. alittle pricey at 8 bucks, with batteries that have to be changed every few games, but well worth the fun. after a drive in the dark, we hang a glow stick in the basket for reference(if really necessary, like hole 17 in long position) anyway, would like to see you guys out there. I recently got my bag tag, #44 i think. sure would like a chance to lower that. we will be there this thur. 11/6 if anyone wants to join. 615-496-9793

I still have yet to play a round of night disc golf, but I can heartily recommend the DGA Blowfly as an incredibly straight-flying and extremely glowy disc. I can look down from my bedroom at night and still see the thing glowing in the back of my car. 10 seconds in front of a car headlight will charge it for all night.

Gateway glow discs are awesome. They glow bright, and for a long, long time. By far the best discs to get for night golf if you don't want those lighted thingies. A glow wizard (or Voodoo!), and a glow Element will take care of about any shot you "should" make playing at night. Throwing glow drivers is just crazy IMO unless the course is really open. Elements are crazy long when you know how to throw them.
I've got some that glow so bright ... they must be radioactive.
Looking at 3 inches of snow outside ... night golf has gone directly to winter golf here in the mountains of CO. I hate the time change.
