This is it. Sleeves for the new back nine are going in this Saturday. We have 16 placements to install.
Meet at the parking lot by the new soccer building at 9am. Plan to be finished near noon.
Bring shovels, hole diggers, tamping poles, magnetic levels, gloves, knee pads (for the old guys).
Post here if you are coming.
Thanks, Ron Pittman 615-377-2337

I plan to be there. However, the SEC baseball tournament in Hoover, AL is trying to lure me away. After all, my Commodores are #1 in the country.

Well, I will thank you in advance for being flexible.
The workday to set the sleeves for the back nine has been re-scheduled to Saturday, June 2nd, 9 am-noon. Our original plans for this Saturday were contingent on the city parks staff being able to use the Bobcat auger to drill our holes. Dave Bundt, director, called me today to say that his staff had fallen behind this week with an un-scheduled sod project and they would have to move our drilling into next week. There you go.
I would invite you to join me in playing the stakes, but the grass is so stinking high, it ain't going to happen. Sorry again. Hopefully the grass will get mowed next week also.
BTW, I'm going to the May in the Shade in Athens, AL on Monday. Anyone else going?

I hope you put gravel in the bottom and set the sleeves in then put the concrete in. The ones at Muse in Jackson Tn. had the concrete put in then the sleeves thus causing the sleeves hold water, no place to drain out. This will cause a problem in the future. I wish y'all the best.

Thanks for the advice David. We definitely don't want to duplicate the problems that they had in Jackson.

OK. We are good to go.
Bobcat auger is set.
I have supplies. (any one close to Thompsons St can come to my house tonite and help saw and drill!!)
Anyone want to be responsible for picking up the concrete mix? The cheap stuff. Call me for details.

Hey. The Scotch Unit (that new guy from Cali) is out of town until Monday. I'm sorry I can't participate in this but I'll make up for it over time. It's so great that this course is going in. It will be my new "home course" (my old "home" was the world famous "Oak Grove"). Thanks for all the behind the scenes work that made it happen.

Wow! Thanks to a great work crew. A very successful day.
We set all of the sleeves on the back nine (about 13 placements) except # 16 and #11A. The Bobcat auger was able to dig everything in about 45 minutes except those two. The ground was just too dry and hard.
We should be able to finish those later this week. I will drop by each day and dig a bit more and add water to the hole to soften it up. Hope to set the sleeves on 16 by Tuesday.
Signs are in process, tee markers (our temporary ones) are missing in a few spots, but we can mark the ground with orange paint to number the tees.
Current plans are to get the targets in place next Saturday. Is everyone OK with a workcrew at 9am and a ribbon cutting round afterwards? 2 rounds of 9?
We can adjust the time if needed. Maybe even watch the weather. It has to rain sometime. I expect it to start on a weekend.
