We made some recent changes on the course. Just wanted everyone to be up to speed.
#10
Added a new White tee area. About 60' deeper along the edge of the woods. We can already tell this will give us a better score spread . The club will be purchasing the new tee sign (and the vinyl overlays for the distance changes on the other sign)
# 16
Moved the White tee area back and to the left. About 70' longer. While it made the tunnel farther away, the angle is much wider. The overhead shot is tempting - -- Make it and try for the birdie or a sure 3 -- miss it and ..... well, sorry.
# 7
We finally got the 2 "luck trees" cut out of the middle. Been meaning to do this for some time. Hopefully this will make the hole a bit more fair. We have new White tee markers on the back side of the path (instead of teeing on the weird path) Need to spread the donated mulch pile on 6,7,8 before we can use it.
#18
Still on the "try-out" phase for the new island placement. See the Dec 6th mini thread for a description
BTW, does any body have access to some donated concrete test cylinders?
And, what is your best suggestion on how to mark a permanant OB line?
What is coming?
#13
From the regular tee pads (both white and red) -------the road and left will be OB. We will be marking this soon and changing the sign. And Oh, And, what is your best suggestion on how to mark a permanant OB line?
# 11
The White tee area will be moved up into the grass in front of the walking path. This should shorten the hole about 25'. The spread numbers will actually improve on this hole for both the A and B position. This will make the birdie2 more available.
This won't actually be moved until we either get temp pads or concrete pads put in.
#15
Next summer (only when it is dry) we will be adding a new longer/lefter B placement for this hole. We will only be able to use it when 12 is in the cave, 11 is in it's par 4 position, and it is dry along the left side fairway. Should be a lefty favorite.
There will be 4 more of our existing holes with longer target placements. All will more than likely become a true par 4. Current plan is to carve some of them out of the woods this winter. In no particular order of tasking ---- we will be asking for workdays for holes 2, 4, 5, and 11.
Be sure and spread the word that this stuff doesn't happen by majic, and isn't done by the city. I have always expected that if more knew that help was needed --- then they would jump in.
Thanks,
Ron "now you know what I know" Pittman
