I have been looking at baskets lately for something to putt with at home. It seems that you have the options of a metal basket, a travel basket, or some build-your-variation. I was just wondering what the general opinion was out there on baskets. Best values, most durable, ect. Maybe somebody has a used one that they want to get rid of? Anyway any feedback would help. Thanks

Great Question.
If you have the dollars and the yard -- put in a real Mach III or Disc Catcher. $350 - $400. Buy one for me while you are at it. We can pretend it is my birthday.
The DB5 and the M-14 are cheaper backyard versions of the same thing --- and catch for crap. Not so durable either.
Portable gets the most votes.
I have had a Ching portable for several years. In the early years, it was a decent choice, but is outclassed now.
The favorite seems to be the Mach lite. $150 or less. Todd has one, and we have used it. Great portability, usability; catches true.
Runner up is the Innova Traveler. Similar reviews.
Happy Shopping.

In the $150 range, I would take the DISCatcher Sport. It is a single chain metal basket that is very portable and is good enough to be used in tournaments.

Baskets I own ... Discraft Chainstar. Worth every penny. Holsten Custom double decker (mini basket is off). Great basket, doesn't catch as well as the Chainstar. [$1500 value] Free ... won it in an Ice Bowl raffle (Wisconsin) last winter. DISCatcher Sport. Great basket! Added some inner chains and is my #2 favorite. Highly recommend this one if you want an all metal basket. It comes apart easily so you can throw it in a car or whatever. Mach Lite. Very good basket for the money. Catches well. Very portable. Comes with a bag. Great for travel and tourneys!

You guys are swell ... so I'm sharing this info that will no doubt get buried on the PDGA board ....
The online entry ... and winner ... would be me. I bought $40 worth of tickets and won one of these awesome Holsten baskets. Uncle Joe said I was one of only a few people from out of state to enter. The basket was shipped to me for free, so all I spent was $40.
