I was just curious if anyone knows whats killing the poor trees around the 3rd basket ?
I'd hate to lose all those, i like em.

I don't know. I do my part--I water them every time I go by.
Maybe it's the way the pros smack them with their drives.
Seriously, white cedar (Thuja occidentalis, aka arborvitae) is susceptible to heat and drought.

dont worry though, the brentwood parks is suppose to take care of all those types of things now. the course should be in great shape by fall ;0)

It's a bad case of "bag worms" (dont know if thats the technical term) but look at the 3 dead 1s, theyre covered, the living ones are worm free. The worms live in little cocoon/sacks that hang from the leaves/needles.

Bag worms are nocternal. A good dose of Sevin as late in the day as possible is about the best thing you can do to kill them.
If you have permission and insurance to do so.
