A friend of mine called to let me know that there were Yellow Jackets swarming on hole 17 last weekend. I imagine that with all the rain since then they haven't been active, but the guy he was playing with got stung five times (!) in rapid succession. (He's not allergic and was fine.)
If the rain abates this weekend, you may want to watch out. The nest is apparently really close to the basket back there on 17, but I haven't seen it personally.

Oh yeah. They are still there. Steve C. called the parks folks yesterday. Look for them about 20' out from target, maybe 7o'clock from the tee. Somebody stuck a big stick and rock on top of the hole.
I saw them while playing a bit of hooky golf. Wednesday before the rain I shot a 54 from the whites (PB). And today I shot a 46 from the reds. Also a PB. Maybe I can behave at Jackson on Saturday.
