Hello, I am going to be traveling to Florida from Iowa on the 13 and 14th of march. I have a room at the candlewood suites in Brentwood. I was planning on playing Crocket park on the 14th around 11 or 12. Just was wondering if you could give me a little info on the area and the course or nearby courses that may be a better option. I tried to get on the forum but it kept asking for a invitation code. thanks for your time and I hope to here back from you. -Grant

Hmmm... I just tried to log in by creating another name and had no problems. Not sure what an invitation code is?? After you get the activation code on your email, just click on the "activate" button. I will email Grant and get him to try again. Grant, if you have found this: 1. Check the Crockett info thread on this same board. Not much to add to that. And yes, there are some other courses about 30 minutes away, but Crockett is the only one near your motel. We have been told that Crockett is worth the effort. You will like the course. 2. When you get signed in on the forum, be sure and post on the "Tee Times" thread. The 14th is both a Sunday and Valentines day, but maybe we can scare up a single backslider to join you. Ron

I have no idea what an invitation code is either I thought it was kinda strange but no problems this time. I am actually travelling in March not this month. I dont think the G/F would be to happy with that although she will be tagging along with me on the trip. I went to discgolfreview.com and the course looks fantastic. I have never played on carpet teepads before but I am looking forward to it. I appreciate all of your help and it looks like I chose the right place to stop for the night.

And let's not forget there's a really awesome wooded course not far down south of Crockett at Liberty park in Franklin! I see you're planning on being out Sunday March 14th. Our club is usually out at Crockett most Sundays at 2pm. Hopefully you can meet up with some of us! We look forward to having you visit our local courses and hope that you enjoy your stay here.

I only wish I could stay that late in the day. I am Hopeing to get started playing around 11 so I can be on the road about 2. We have to make it all the way to Ft Meyers that night. If you would want to meet out there for a round before the club I know that we would enjot the company either way, thank you and happy discin. By the way, How is the weather in March down there? I know its going to be much better than here but not sure what to expect.

March is usually the odd month out of the year where it can be cold and windy one day and feel like spring time the next! But other than the wind, hopefully it'll end up nice and sunny and fairly warm by the time you're here. I don't know if I'll be able to be out there by 11 on a Sunday but perhaps someone from the club can. But since it's still over a month away, maybe I can talk my wife into letting me have an early full Sunday of DG on that day!
I assume you checked out the course directory on tndiscgolf.com? There's some really good pics of each hole at Crockett on the site.

The invitation code on TNDISCGOLF's forum is a necessary evil to keep spammers from littering the board with pornography and other inappropriate content. Glad they're gettin you fixed up for your visit to Crockett Grant. Two things, it's almost always windy there, so some beefy discs for headwinds are advisable, and second if you have time, play the course first from the red tees, then again from the whites. It's an entirely different course, someone did a real nice job adjusting those to the corrosponding skill levels of the players that should be playing them. This goes for the rest of you on this board too. If you're shooting even or better on the reds, it's time to step up for good.

WEll only 2 more weeks until I hit the road. I am getting very anxious already. Cant wait to play some golf in some better weather. Went out to our Ice bowl the other day and in some spots the snow was nearly to my waist. Its getting a little old. Hopefully the dg gods will spray some nice weather over Tenn for my visit.

I made it to Nashville ;D Plan on playing crocket very early tomorrow moring. Hoping to miss the rain but I will wait and see how it plays out. I will most likely be out there around 7 or 8 and if anyone wants to join just flag me down or something. If the rain doenst cooperate with us I will probably just try again on the way back home. Hope to see some of you.

Played this morning in the rain. Sucked but still had alot of fun. Started off at +3 after 5 and ended up shooting a 51 playing all pro pads. Overall not to bad of round. The highlights of the round were a drop in 3 on 9 and a turkey on 6,7,8. Overall I love the course, reminds me alot of our courses back home. Also ate at corkeys last night and that was some good barbeque. May stop again on the way home sto try and play in some better weather. Until then thanks again.
