I'm posting this under tournaments, although it is not really a totally organized event. Just something I was thinking about and think some of us would enjoy
The early start time is due to the fact that we will be all over the course in a random order and we will need to be out of the way of those playing the normal layout.
There will be NO entry fee. The winner is the one who has the most FUN. (I am thinking of some sort of plaque to the winner) maybe we could do this once a year
This is totally casual, there will be no OB's and by my made up par it plays to the tune of 63 with 7 par4 and 1 par5. These pars were based on distance and a couple of odd hooks.
Please remind yourself as you read these hole descripions that the point of this is to do something TOTALLY different and there will be a couple long walks and some weird looking shots.
First of all, we need to park in the LOWER lot behind hole 2's fairway.
note tee offs are listed with (W)hite or (R)ed tee based on which one we will tee from
start with a walk from parking lot down the side walk to #6 tee area
hole 1- tees from #6(W) crosses sidewalk up hill doglegs right to #5 basket =par 3
hole 2-tees from #5(W) tunnel shot out fades left to #3
basket=par 3
hole 3-tees from #4(R) slight uphill follows original 3 fairway to #2 basket=par3
hole 4-tees from #3(R) sweeping left shot across field and uphill to #4 basket=par4
hole 5-tees from #5(R) (back of pad) shoots down the hill towards #6 tees (use a safety spotter here) HARD dogleg right to finish out original #6 basket.=par4
Now take a long "safari" walk down sidewalk to-#9White tee area
hole 6-tees from #9(W) straight out and dogleg right punch in to #8 basket=par3
hole 7-tees from #9(R) straight up slight hill over and dogleg left to #10 basket=par4
hole 8-tees from #10(W) MANDO must go through the tower down hill fades left to #9 basket=par3
if you miss the mando, tee from direct center under tower (9's other pin position) and add 1 stroke
hole 9-tees from #10(R) across valley to #18 basket=par3
hole 10-tees from #11(W) straight out past electric pole slight fade left to #15 basket=par4
hole 11-tees from #18(W) big sweeping left fade to out across field to #11 basket=par3
hole 12-tees from #11(R) MANDOmust pass on RIGHT side of large electric pole, continue out across flat field to #16 basket=par4
if you miss the mando, tee from drop zone 2 meter relief directly left of large electric pole and add 1 stroke
hole 13-tees from #17(W) shoots back towards 16's basket, around the large clump of trees, across valley to #14 basket=par4
hole 14-tees from #15(W) shoots across valley and uphill to #12 basket=par3
hole 15-tees from #14(R)shoots out and along church tree lined fairway to elevated #13 basket=par3
hole 16-tees from #13(W) LONG shot along field past 12's cave pin down to #14 basket=par5
hole 17-tees from #14(R) LONG downhill shot across and up valley to #16 basket=par4
hole 18-tees from #18(R) follows original course fairway out along valley and tree line to short dogleg right to #10 basket=par3
as you read these you'll need to picture the whole shot in your head on some of them. Because you may not use the the pad in a direct line like the original layout.
this # 15 for example you'll be shooting perpendicular off the tee.
the field will be LIMITED to 12 players due to not jamming up the course, 3 groups of 4 shadowing or 2 of 6, whatever we decide.
again, this all for FUN and something different. we could probably only do this now before the course gets overgrown with new spring growth.
If your intrested in playing this one for fun reply to this thread.
first 11 (i'll make 12) to reply are in.
I have thought out a few flow ideas and this is what I came up with
