The city will be putting down a good bit of Christmas tree mulch --- starting next week.
First on the list are the wooded holes and the half-wooded holes.
If they have enough, they are going to drop a bucket full: by each target all of the paths some of the muddier tee areas.
They have asked the club to spread the target/tee/path mulch. I said yes. So, if you are out playing next week and see some piles --- go back to your car and grab a rake.
Thanks Ron
PS. We have permission to have some Volunteer Workdays. Look for more info in a few days.

Ok, here is the plan. The city dropped several piles behind #5 Red tee. The very nice Christmas tree mulch.
We need your help to spread it around several tee and target areas. The worst ones appear to be: Targets 1,2,3,5,16, and Tees 1r,2w, 3r, 4r, 5r, 5 w, 10r, 10w, 11r, 14r, 15r, 16r, 16w, 17r, 18r.
We will gather as a group this Saturday (the 14th) at 11am. Bring trucks, 5 gallon buckets, scoops, wheelbarrows, rakes.
If for some reason you can't make it and want to help during the week, post here and send me a pm for details.
Thanks, Ron Pittman your mulch spreading President
Insert guilt sentence to the right of this period. If you have ever whined about the mud around these tees or targets --- you have a chance to do something about it on Saturday. And yes, we will be done before the playoff games.

Saturday. 11am. We hope to see you there. If you don't have a wheelbarrow, then cardboard boxes and 5 gallon buckets are great mulch-totin' tools.

Wow! Big thanks to all the mulch haulers/spreaders.
We got most of the front nine targets/tees done. Looking real good. We will have to do some more for the course to make it thru the winter, but we are off to a good start.
For those that had schedule conflicts for Saturday midday --- and could not make it ---never fear--- we saved some for you. ;D
Just PM me if you have some weekday moments and need to know what is next on the list. Thanks, Ron

It was an awesome day, got a TON done (and that be the weight of how much we got spread) Thanks to everyone who came out!
This weekend Jan 21&22 are looking GOOD weather wise, so lets do this again, maybe start at 10 this saturday. James White might have his trailer on hand, and if so were gonna get even more done!
I picked up trash for an hour and a half yesterday. All down #2 fairway, in around #3, 4, and 5. That filled up 2 full trashbags.
So not only is there mulch to be spread, but trash as well.
Do what you can, we all appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot to add, if you have a pitch fork, please bring it!!! they work sooooo much better than shovels for scooping the mulch.
And of course, we all played after the work...lots of tags changed hands....

Forcast is swinging towards rain saturday. 50%
Will look at it hard saturday morning. As long as its not a gully washer, there is still much that can be done in a sprinkle.
picking up trash, clearing sticks and debris from the wooded fairways. re securing the number plates and next tee signs.
If its too muddy to drive on the course, the mulch piles by 5 and 6 can be worked from and spread on 6, 7, and 8.
So if your free, come join us. if the clouds part it will be a great day, and of course we'll finish the day with a bag tag round!

Once again the early forcast looks good for another work day. (SAT 1/28) As you might have seen we are 75% done with the mulching. We hope to have the city dump us some good piles near 16/17/18 this week and it will need spreading this weekend.
If you can make it out, I plan on being there around 9AM, and we will get done what we can, and of course we'll play a bit in prep for the BAG TAG singles on the 29th with us and Drakes
See yall out there.
(BTW, if the city does not get the mulch moved to the back, we still have lots of trash/sticks that can be picked up, and we can finsh up hole 6 as its very close to the big piles)
We are waaay ahead on course prep, thanks to everyones efforts so far!!!!!!!!!!

Calling all mulchers /wheel barrowers /shovelers /rakers A crew will be out on the back of the course this Saturday 9am-12pm spreading what hopes to be the last of the mulching. Ain't got a rake or shovel?? We'll put a bag in your hand to collect trash. The course is really shaping up, and it happens because of YOU! Come join if you can, the more arms we have, the faster it will go. We'd love to see ya. And as always, we will tee off after a quick lunch, probably from the reds as thats what we will play Sunday at Drakes/WCDGC bag tag singles!
