Here is a list of the more pressing projects still left to do. No doubt there will be no shortage of possible improvements, but these are sorta' next.
If you would like to volunteer to take care of one of these on your own time, no problemo. That's how most of the course has been carved out anyway.
The list
Crockett Project List (updated 10-16-07) · Clean up “floor’ on wooded holes; cut stumps, rake, etc. #'s - 3,4,5,6,7,8, and even 10,11,14 · Cut up tree beside 7a target · Clean up target area 17 a; cut tree, wire, bike, limbs on ground, etc · Clean up wire by tree just before 17 b · String trimmer around all tees, markers, targets, etc · Cut visual "window" under trees by path, near 9a target · Install 3 more navigation posts · Re-install tee markers that have been hit by mower. · Cut back tee area for 8white by about 2 feet.
I know that everyone isn't in to the work thang, and that's cool. Just be patient with us as we slowly make our progress. The sooner this course gets presentable and the club becomes solid ---- the sooner we can talk about the big T's ; Tournaments and Tee pads.
Thanks, Ron

I kinow several players that have asked about work projects, but don't expect any work days this month. Sheesh - I know you are dissapointed.
But, there are 2 projects that could be done on your own. If you are interested, let me know. Sure would be appreciated
1. Safety problem. We need the barbed wire removed from 2 holes.
16 - next to the tree line on the left as you go down the stairs.
17 - Two places. Next to the tree in front of the existing target and next to the trashed motorcycle as you approach the long placement
2. Navigation problem. My cute little one dollar number plates have served their purpose. Time for something else.
Unless someone has a better idea, we can cut 5" long sections of 4" PVC pipe, drill holes and secure them with nylon "ski" rope. Should be rather durable.
We can get a set of 4" tall red vinyl numbers online for about $30. Total project is right at $50 worth.
Once again - a better idea is a good thing.
Thanks, Ron

Something that i think that needs to be done to the course is tee signs and directional arrows stating where the next tee is..... Had i not been at the course with someone who didnt already know the layout i would have been pretty much lost..... Even the local had some problems figuring out were the pin placements were.... Also maybe look into having a board that tells people what pin positions are set for the day-- Kinda seems like if u arent in the loop you wont get to play the course/spend more time walking the fairways to find the pole :-holes instead of just coming out to chuck some plastic all and all a good course...nice touch on hole 15?(elevated pin) look forward to seeing the course grow into a great one

Ryan, Glad you found Crockett. Bring that tag back and play me. I see a lower number in your future.
You nailed it! Navigation for newcomers is key. We have even waited to officially "open" the course on the PDGA website for exactly that reason.
We are sorta' without words or explanation right now about the tee signs. The city has had the graphic data for some time now. Last week's follow-up indicated that the CD with the data is now in a local sign shop. Maybe soon. I was hoping they would at least drop in the posts so we could hang some temp signs. Not yet anyway.
The local club has put in a few things to help guide folks. There are red 4x4's between every hole (except 1 and 2) pointing to the next tee. In the snow, they were probably as hard to find as my discs. As of last week all of the targets had a number on top and an arrow on the basket bottom indicating direction to next tee pad.
Maybe we will have our ducks in a row before the next snow fall.

I will update the list tomorrow.
Several have asked to help with the course. I will make a list of some 1man/2hour projects so we will be ready for the tournament. If you have noticed things that need to go on the list, say so.
We will have another work day on Saturday afternoon May 3rd. Go ahead and buy your sling blade now.
Thanks, Ron

Crockett Project List (updated 4-25-08)
This is just hitting the "high" spots. Some safety stuff and things that need to be done before the CCC have priority. I am sure we can find more to do. Don't be bashfull about pointing out other problems --- just don't act surprised when we ask you to help fix it.
* Hole 7, A target. Cut up two dead trees on ground. Cut overhanging branch. Haul waaay off in the woods - downhill sorta'.
* Cut stumps and roots on tee pads. 3 White, 14 white. come to mind. any others?
* Cut tree (and stump) at rear of pad on 3 White, and 8 white.
* re-install all tee markers that have been hit by mower.
* Re-route water run-off on #3. Remove trash from original ditch, etc.
* Sling blade and machete time (don't cut trees --just the junk) # Junk on the right of hole 18 # Hillside to left of 16 fairway, and between 16 and 15 fairway.
Most of this stuff gets done without any fanfare. I want to continue to thank Don, Scott, and Ryan's dad for taking a bunch of stuff off of our list.
Pick something on the list and go for it. Thanks in advance.
