We keep finding things torn up or taken around the course. * the occasional tee marker * several navigation posts * some temporary tee signs
Seems to be mostly along the walking path. Don't know if we have a PO'ed jogger or not.
If it is kids, I suggest; calling the police, scaring them as much as possible, getting their names, visiting the parents, and inviting to family to the course. I suspect if they knew that the work came from volunteers instead of "the city" it might help. I would also give the kids a disc and drag them out on the course. IMHO.
But, if it is an adult with no qualms about theft and/or vandalism - press charges. Period.
BTW, we are not deputized, so call the police first.
Thanks, Ron

Or, if the perp is a jogging nut, a quick driver to the shin may do the trick.
Never trust joggers. People shouldn't run unless they are being chased or in pursuit of meat.

Wabble, that could have been the most insightful observation I've read on a board in quite some time. I completely agree...
To address the issue... have we identified any means by which we can, well, identify the vandals? If the damage is contained to "near the path", that leads me to believe it's happening at night. I would be surprised if many adults were out at night. How, then, do we monitor the course at the time we suspect we need to?
...just some thoughts.

Back in town and played this weekend.
Vandal farts busted up the number plates. I know they were temps and cheap, but it still counts as vandalism.
Assuming it is a young crowd. Spread the word amongst any young-types.
Wouldn't mind catching them. Wouldn't mind prosecuting.
Anyone got a deer cam?
