Had a talk with some of the park folks today. They told me straight up - the city law says --- no booze in the park.
I got the feeling they were on the lookout for violators. Really complained about the beer trash.
I had been wondering about the actual park law, so now I know.
I got to tell you, that the rep of the local golfers will have huge influence on our request for maintainence, money for tee pads, and tournament cooperation.
At the risk of losing some golfing friends --- I will step out and say that I cannot support those that choose to ignore this law.
Please, please, spread the word --- for the good of this course -- save the brew until you leave the park. If I have time, I may be able to join you for some tipping after the round -- and after we leave the park.
Sorry, looks like I have successfully added fuddy and duddy.

Just found this web page yesterday and I played Crockett for the first time today. I had a good time and expect to start playing much more in the coming months.
I don't know if it was today or yesterday, but it had to be recent from the clean bottles. But anyway, had put an empty bottles in the number pipe at the top of many of the baskets. I also saw a few of the same color bottles on the ground along the course. I'm not opposed to enjoying your day out but don't wreck it for the rest of us please.
don't know and doubt it was a member of this group, just a heads up.

Yep. Help us spread the word. The parks dept has asked the local club to tell the golfers to: a. Pick up your trash b. Be aware of the alcohol prohibition in the park. (uh-uh - that means parking lot also.)
I don't know where you stand on this issue, but I will make my stand known. Waaaay too much investment has been put into this course to see our relationship with the city compromised by packNpuff or fizzNsip.
This isn't about your personal choice of partaking or not------ it's about your choice of where to do it. (just so you will know- if you ask me after the round to head out and get a cold one -- I will usually follow you like a puppy)
Here is the nice way to say it: This is not our backyard. This course (and our permission to use it ) is at the pleasure of the: * citizens * park board * local constabulary Please consider the big picture.
For those hard of hearing -- I will say it another way: "Take it somewhere else" I have no desire to loose any friends over this. Please don't make me choose.
