As a beginner in the sport, I have been taking the time to study the basic driving technique. By breaking down the technique into its various components, I have been able to concentrate on one or 2 aspect at a time. Eventually I added the X-step run-up. Being less concerned with distance, I am trying to develop proper form.
However, in driving the disc (RHBH), I will pull the hamstring muscle in my left leg. Not only is this frustrating, but I have not been able to determine what I might be doing to cause the problem. Am I rotating my hips while my left foot is still planted? Am I not transferring my weight onto the right leg soon enough? As a beginner trying to simultaneously execute all of the components of the driving technique, I'm at a loss.
Maybe some of you more seasoned veterans of the sport can offer me clues as to avoiding this niggling injury. Thank you so much!
