Curious if anyone knows how often they are updating the registration page (PDGA).....I registered about a week ago and I'm still not showing up. I suspect we have a lot more than 8 people registered.

Billy, I am they. We get updates from the online service most regular. Yours came in on Sat after I updated on Friday. I will load another batch tonight. If my numbers are correct we have 122 signed up.

Good on they... I mean you Ron. 122 is very impressive for a cold February day. The other club isn't even trying to get the word out on their events this weekend. I hope you have more events lined up for this year.

I hope you have more events lined up for this year. I was just funning. More like 15 are pre-regged. I figure that IceBowlOrNot most folk will wait to see how screwed up the weather is before they commit. I often do the same. But, I am still a big fan of PRE-registration. One day (in a world where I get what I want) all events would be totally pre-registered. I can think of no other sport where most of the tournament players don't register until the day of the event. That fact makes us look very UN-professional. As a TD (read Event Coordinator) it is just plan goofy trying to plan for an event and not know how many are coming. You don't even do that for a 6 year old's birthday party. In most parts of the country it is a MUST for a player to pre-register or the event will fill up without you. Our area has had some very full events, but the TD doesn't know it until it happens. If we ever expect a tournament to supply any amenities of quality--- they have to know who is coming. (lunch, water, right amount of prizes, etc) Some days I wish the area TD's would get together and announce that all future area events would be pre-register only. I'm in. Time for less hand holding. Adding "IMO" would be most redundant. If WCDGC would back me up, I would give serious thought to making our next event just that. Pre-reg only. The only folks that would "miss out" would be the petty ones hoping to teach me a lesson by some odd We Will Show You Boycott. I'm a big boy. I would get over it. How's that for just plain stubborn and tacky? Sorry Craig, that's a lot of sugar for a nickel, but I feel better now. Ron

Ron,
You have my support for the pre-reg for WCDGC events. I am guilty of not registering yet but not because I'm a weather watcher but I'm waiting for my paycheck on the 1st so I can register. This is my first event so I'm really looking forward to this! ;D

While we're not yet in Ron's world with the total pre-reg, we have taken the radical step of saying you must be pre-registered to receive a player's pack.
So, if we get to the morning of the tournament and don't yet have 40 ams pre-registered online, you may expect a players pack if you get there early enough to register on-site and still be one of the first 40. However, if this is your expectation, you may be disappointed and you will be wrong.
;D

Well put me down as a participent in Adv, and add me as a hole sponser too. Any hole, I don't care which, that may still need a "Sponsered by SlowRoll" added to beautify it up. I'll put money in your hand next time I see you, last time I checked I'm still good for it ;-)

Ron you make a very good point. I'm all for future events by the club being pre-reg as it just makes more since in the preparation department. I have a baby who could getting a new heart any day, including tournament day, and yet I still pre-registered knowing I might have to be at hospital instead of on the course!

Just a reminder folk. There are only 4 ways to register: - Online at www.raisingchainsdg.com
Online closes at Wed midnight on the 9th. BTW, James is doing an awesome job with this. I strongly suggest coughing up the extra $3 and being done with it.
- Snail mail to:
WCDGC 6824 Pulltight Hill Rd College Grove, TN 37064
Must be received by Friday the 11th
- In person at Sunday doubles.
OR, if it doesn't work out for you to pre-register you can do so on the day of.
While my love for each of you is essentially immeasurable, I am not keeping a list of folks asking me to hold a spot. Never have. Not starting now. I can explain this later (you will be amazed at how wise I am.) , but right now I am routing some stuff for Liberty. I will update the PDGA website registration page every couple of days. Thanks, Ron

I have a few questions about the tournament and let me say it sounds like it is going to be awesome! Me and possibly 3 buddies are coming up from knoxville to play and were wondering if we can all be put on the same card or how you guys usually do that? One other thing is we want to come up the night before maybe hit the city but were wondering what hotels are close to the course or you guys had any you recommend?
